  • Ongoing Project – Find out about Lord Horatio Nelson.  How many medals did he have? How did he get them?  Design and make some new medals for him.  You could make these out of construction, junk (tin foil is great for this!), nature objects or draw a picture of them.
  • Ongoing Project – Research a famous person from the past (e.g. Queen Victoria, Albert Einstein).  You could draw pictures and label them, make an information poster, make a leaflet…the options are endless!
  • Ongoing Project – Talk about the weather and the changes in seasonal weather. Do you know the names of the seasons? What changes at different times of the year (temperature, plants etc)? Watch the weather forecast and talk about the symbols they use and what they mean. Have a go at making your own weather map with symbols. Can you update it each day as the weather changes? You could make this out of construction, paper/card etc.
  • Ongoing Project -Think about a country in the world that speaks a different language.  Have a go at learning how to say hello, goodbye etc in that language.  Can you make a word mat with some of the new words on it?  Draw a picture of what it means and write the word underneath to help your family remember them.
  • Ongoing Project – Think of an animal that lives in Australia (eg: kangaroo, platypus, crocodile, wombat etc). Can you build somewhere for it to live? You could draw pictures and label them, use junk or construction to build the den, make an information poster, make a leaflet…the options are endless!
  • Ongoing Project – Research an inventor and their invention (e.g. Who made the telephone? Who invented the lightbulb?). You could draw pictures and label them, use junk or construction to build your own invention, make an information poster, make a leaflet…the options are endless!
  • Ongoing Project – Talk about the importance of recycling. What can you recycle? How do you know? Look at the symbols on different packaging to find out. Have a go at sorting your own recycling at home. Can you design a poster to remind people in your house to recycle?
  • Ongoing Project – Pick a habitat (desert, underwater, somewhere cold etc). Think about the animals that would live there. Make your habitat and make model animals to live in it. You could make this out of construction, junk, paper, card etc. Have a go at making the animal noises and see if someone at home can guess what animal it is!
  • Ongoing Project – Pirates love treasure but they need somewhere to keep it all safe. Design and make a new treasure chest for the pirates. You could make this out of junk, paper, card or construction…….the options are endless. Remember to make some treasure to go inside too!
  • Ongoing Project – Research 4 big events in history eg: The Great Fire of London, Battle of Hastings, Battle of Trafalgar and the first man on the moon. Can you put them in time order? Create your own timeline of events. You could draw pictures and label them, make an information poster, make a leaflet or find another way to show us your timeline.
  • Ongoing Project – Use the HMS Victory photo slides.  Work out what each photo is.  Make information signs to go with the photographs so other people know what they are too.  You may like to write a sentence about where it would have been found on the ship and what it would have been used for.
