We are delighted to welcome you to Cupernham Infant School and very much look forward to meeting with you and your child soon.

We know the importance of a happy and positive start for your child’s education and feel sure that you will support any increased time given in September to help you and your child settle confidently and happily in school. Communication will be taking place with your child’s preschool/childminder in the next few weeks and profiles will be built.

We return to school in September 2026 with two scheduled staff training (INSET) days on Tuesday 1^st and Wednesday 2^nd September 2026.  Following this, there will be a slightly staggered start from Thursday 3rd September which is designed to enable each group of children to gain familiarity and confidence in their new environment without feeling overwhelmed. We find that children learn very quickly from each other and that calm, purposeful learning routines spread rapidly if each child has adequate attention and space for this to be established.

All children will be full time on Wednesday 9^th September 2026, and we will explain this process at our meeting on 3rd June at 6.30pm.
