Christingle

Christingle

Year R had a wonderful day learning how to make a Christingle, using an orange, some sweets and some raisins, red ribbon and a candle. The children learned about the different parts of the Christingle and what they represent.

This afternoon we invited the Rev. Thomas Wharton to deliver a service for the children and their relatives to take part in to celebrate the start of advent on Sunday. We carefully lit the candles and had some time to be quiet, still and reflective.

The children all put so much effort into making their Christingles and then sat beautifully throughout the service, listening and answering questions about Christmas.

Thank you to Rev. Thomas Wharton and Rhiannon from Romsey Abbey for their help this afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed our magical time in the school hall.
