Creative Week – Diwali
The children have enjoyed celebrating the Hindu Festival of Diwali in Creative Week. We have been super busy! We started the week off by reading the story of Rama and Sita, we then explored how Hindu’s decorate their homes to welcome the Gods in. We made Diwa lamps, lanterns and rangoli patterns out of a range of materials, and even enjoyed having a visitor who taught some ‘Bollywood’ dance moves! We were really excited to have one of the children’s parents come in and talk to us about how their family celebrates Diwali, she showed us some lovely outfits and special objects and the children asked lots of questions.
