World Book Day in Year One

We had a brilliant day yesterday for World Book Day and everybody looked fantastic. We started the morning exploring our books and talking about the character we had dressed up as.

This year our school focused on the author Julia Donaldson and each year group chose a book to read by this author. Year One chose to read The Smeds and The Smoos because it was all about space. We explored the characters feelings and appearances and each made a roll on the wall to show this. We also had fun with a range of creative activities around the book which is all up on display in our hall. Well done Year One.

Later on, we had an exciting visit from Mr Wells who read us his book The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
